TYPES & STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS
There are different types of consciousness. This should not be surprising if one considers that consciousness is what everything else is embedded in. Consciousness in the following includes individual as well as collective consciousness.
Many people find out sooner or later that un-consciousness does not exist in an absolute sense. This is proven by the fact that consciousness can one way or the other become conscious of that which had been un-conscious. There are many examples of people remembering and being conscious during operations under anesthetics. One had better say temporarily not available or filtered out of consciousness.
Philosophically consciousness and knowledge can be viewed in the dual roles of 'cause' and 'effect'. Cause is the sense of a 'creator role', which finally brings about 'world' as a 'creation of consciousness'. Effect is the sense of an 'experience role', in which 'knowledge within the world' is viewed and experienced.
We also know by experience that when learning to drive one has to focus and pay attention to each new skill and build it up consciously. In other words a creative conscious activity. On the other hand once we have learned to drive a car, we do not have to be continually conscious or focus on each movement or action, on the contrary one may cause an accident trying this. We know we can trust our habits and learning patterns... This we could call automatic consciousness*.
In our view creative consciousness is primary and automatic consciousness is a derivative. …One could say input consciousness consists of the basic considerations, decisions and causative thoughts that shape things and output consciousness is the feedback in the form of perceptions, memories, habits, learning patterns, convictions or fixed belief systems.
One may get stuck on the consciousness which is automatic output and forget that somewhere behind, or underlying there must have been a creative/ input consciousness. We find that problems and undesirable conditions of life, can be completely changed by finding the precise input considerations, decisions or thoughts!**
